Thanks to her grandmother’s encouragement, Tamara Simmons, who was born in Germany began painting at an early age. She immigrated with her family to the United States, where they settled in Maryland.

Tamara attended art classes at the Corcoran School of Fine Art in Washington, DC, and graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in Fine Art. Since moving to Northern Colorado in the 1990s, Tamara has developed a classical old world painting style, deriving her inspiration from the beauty that surrounds us – be it a simple still-life arrangement or the grandeur of a Colorado landscape.

As a member of Oil Painters of America, her paintings have received corporate, regional and national awards, and are held in private collections throughout the U.S. and abroad.
